Entry to Employment (E2E) Programme Information

Who can apply?


   Client group

  • Young unemployed people between the ages of 16-18 who are not work ready or unsure of training aim
  • Ideally suited to those who prefer an adult environment
  • May have few qualifications or low results, or social/health problems

   Eligibility

  • Not in employment or attending school or college as a full-time student
  • Not ready to enter Level 2 structured learning or employment
  • Can demonstrate the ability and intention to progress on to further training or employment following time on e2e

When would I attend?


   Duration

  • Average of 18 weeks

   Attendance

  • Monday to Friday between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm
  • From 16 to 30 hours a week depending on progress
    (classed as full-time training)

What training would I receive?


   Centre based training

  • Basic Skills in literacy and numeracy
  • Basic and vocational IT skills
  • Vocational office related skills
  • Personal/social development including communication
  • Job search skills

   Work experience

  • Placements or tasters arranged to suit individual need and employment aim

   Careers advice

  • Help in identifying career path and further training needs
  • Help in locating courses
  • Help with job and college applications

What qualification could I achieve?


   Options

  • BCS Level 1 Certificate for IT Users
  • C&G Start IT Certificate Entry Level 3
  • C&G Word processing Level 1 (possible progression to Level 2)
  • C&G Computerised Accounts Level 1
  • Communication Key Skill Level 1
  • Application of Number Key Skill Level 1
  • Certificate in Adult Literacy Level 1 (possible progression to Level 2)
  • Certificate in Adult Numeracy Level 1 (possible progression to Level 2)

   Financial

  • Free to participants – fully funded by London South Learning & Skills Council
  • Travel expenses
  • EMA entitlement
  • Childminding fees through 'Care to Learn'
  • Progression bonus

   Special Needs

  • ESOL, literacy and numeracy support
  • Help for people with disabilities

   Personal

  • Key Worker for guidance and support
  • Access to Connexions Personal Adviser

All year round roll-on, roll-off entry dates and assessment for course suitability
