Kingston Adult Education offers ESOL classes of between 4 and 15 hours a week for adults who are permanently settled in the UK.
‘Permanently settled’ includes people who have indefinite leave to remain, exceptional leave to remain and those with humanitarian leave to remain. Eligible learners who are in receipt of active benefits, Job Seekers Allowance and Employment Support Allowance (in work related activities) will receive free tuition, but will be required to pay a small registration fee and exam fee. Non-eligible learners will be charged fees for tuition, exams and registration. All ESOL learners need to come for an interview and assessment prior to enrolment.
ESOL classes follow the National Curriculum leading to Trinity Certificates in Speaking and Listening, Reading or Writing at each level – Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. If you have young children there is some support with child care available. Ask at the office for details.
If you are interested in ESOL classes and to arrange daytime interviews, please phone 020 8547 6724 or email: pat.nash@rbk.kingston.gov.uk
