Voluntary Sector Board
The purpose of the Voluntary Sector Board is to improve partnership arrangements with the local voluntary sector by increasing communication and access to elected members and by providing a forum for discussion on wider partnership issues.
Specific grant allocations are not discussed at Board meetings.
Membership of the Board comprises the Executive Member for Health and Community (Chair), the Leader of the Council, the shadow Executive Member for Health and Community, the Chief Executive of Kingston Voluntary Action (Vice-Chair), officers from the Voluntary Sector Unit and key local organisations elected by their peers to represent the following sub-sectors:
- Advice and Information
- Arts
- BMER Communities
- Children and young people
- Disability and Mental Health
- Environment
- Older People
- Sport
