Other Support

The Voluntary Sector Unit aims to build strong relationships between the Council and local voluntary sector organisations.

In addition to providing funding, the Unit works closely with Kingston Voluntary Action and can offer help and support for voluntary and community organisations by:

  • Helping to bring in additional funds from outside sources, including undertaking funding searches
  • Building partnerships between the Council and local voluntary organisations including raising awareness about the local Compact
  • Helping local voluntary and community organisations to understand the procurement process and build their capacity to deliver public sector services
  • Helping individual organisations meet the Council’s grant requirements
  • Keeping up-to-date with national developments and clarifying how these translate to local needs and what this means for Kingston voluntary organisations (see 'briefing notes' below)

Every month the Voluntary Sector Unit produces briefing notes on policy and funding developments that could impact Kingston's voluntary sector. Recent briefings are listed below. If you would like to be added to our email mailing list please contact Jill Darling Voluntary Sector Partnerships Officer (020 8547 5124).
