Environment grants awarded in 2010/11

Coombe Hill Infant School PTA   £594   to pay for a raised planter and a garden trolley for the reception classes  
Fircroft Trust   £1,500   to pay for a replacement poly-tunnel at the Fircroft Centre  
Kaleidoscope   £500   towards the cost of seeds and gardening equipment neededto prepare an allotment for users  
Kingston Green Radio   £700   for a licence to broadcast during the Paint the Town Green week  
Lovelace School PTA   £1,250   towards the cost of ‘minipods’ for bike and scooter storage  
Lower Mole Countryside Trust   £2,420   to improve the Castle Hill nature reserve in Chessington including a new gate, new fencing and tree surgery  
Parkfields Community Garden   £1,100   towards the cost of tools, equipment and trainingfor this allotment run on permaculture principles  
Refugee Action Kingston (RAK)   £2,000   towards children's environmental workshops and some of the costs related to theirrecycled clothing scheme  
Save the World Club   £7,375   to cover rent, rates and utilities for the Environment Centre  
Transition Town Kingston   £2,250   £500 for purchase of scales for a boxed food service, £900 for land clearance at Knollmead Allotments and £850 to build a working model to demonstrate energy efficient heating, lighting and energy systems  
Waste Watch   £5,000   towards the cost of an educational theatre show thatwill teach primary school children about food wastage and sustainable living
