The Voluntary Sector Unit provides support to voluntary
and community organisations working with children and young people, particularly in the areas of child
protection and developing services for disadvantaged children.
- Child protection - groups are given support
to develop appropriate child protection policies and procedures, including helping to ensure that Criminal
Records Bureau (CRB) checks have been carried out on all individuals working with children and young
people.
- Children's Network - this is a forum that
brings together the local authority and voluntary and community organisations who work with children
and young people to share ideas and help them to deliver effective and relevant services to children
and young people.
- Advancing Services for Kingston Kids (ASKK)
- this is a directory that has been set up to provide information on both statutory and voluntary services
for children, young people and their families.
