We are a specialised unit within the Council and work closely with Kingston Voluntary Action to provide help, advice and support for voluntary organisations in the borough.
Can we help you?
If you are a voluntary organisation working in the borough, we may be able to help . We offer:
- Grants to voluntary and community groups ranging from small and neighbourhood grants to strategic three year funding
- Support and advice on capacity building and organisational development to
- help organisations meet the requirements for strategic three year funding
- support the voluntary and community sector’s role in delivering public services and in building stronger communities
- Support for partnership projects between the Council and voluntary and community organisations including raising awareness about the local Compact
- Support for voluntary and community organisations to work together
- Help to bring in additional funds from outside sources for voluntary and community organisations
- Advice and guidance on child protection issues and help with Criminal Records Bureau checks
- Support and development of the Children’s Network which brings together organisations working with children and young people to share information and develop good practice
Central to all these activities is building effective relationships between the Council and the voluntary sector that reflect the diversity and range of the organisations and departments involved.
