Kingston businesses and residents can access practical advice on how to deal with the current recession. It tells you what you can do and where to go for information and support whether you are unemployed, faced with redundancy or have financial concerns that may impact on you or your family.
The scale and likely duration of the recession is still unclear but what is clear is that it is already having an impact on our residents and businesses. The Local Economy Monitor that is produced quarterly provides a useful local indicator of what is happening in the Royal Borough. Please see the download link at the bottom of this page.
The Council has set up a Local Economy and Skills Group in partnership with key local and regional organisations including Kingston Chamber of Commerce, JobCentre Plus, Kingston University, Kingston College, Business Link, Learning and Skills Council, Connexions and South London Business to monitor and respond to the specific challenges faced at the local level. The Council is also working closely with the London Development Agency and London Councils to ensure that pan-London initiatives can help Kingston businesses and residents.
