What records do Kingston Register Office hold?

Registers containing birth, death and marriage entries dating back to 1837 for the Kingston area are held at the Register Office.

What is the cost of a copy certificate from Kingston Register Office?

From 6 April 2010 the fees for certificates will be as follows:

Short certificate of birth £9.00

Standard certificate of birth £9.00

Marriage certificate £9.00

Death certificate £9.00

Searching the Indexes

You can make searches through our indexes, by prior appointment only, for a fee of £18.00.

What if I am not sure where the birth, death or marriage took place?

A full set of indexes for the whole of England and Wales can be found at the following places:

  • Bridgend Local and Family History Centre
  • City of Westminster Archives Centre
  • Manchester City Library
  • Newcastle City Library (from 14 November)
  • Plymouth Central Library
  • The British Library

Please remember that the above places only hold the indexes and it is not possible to obtain certificates from them. They may however provide Internet access to the General Register Office online certificate ordering service where you can purchase certificates quoting the reference number found in the indexes.
