Recreation and Leisure

Information is provided about sports centres and events, discount cards, recreation grounds and parks in the Borough.

The Malden Centre, Blagdon Road, New Malden, offers a unique combination of leisure and learning facilities all under one roof. Check out the special Over 50's mornings with reduced rates for fitness facilities - gym, swimming pool, fitness classes and racquets sessions. Courses range from bridge to pottery, computing to crafts. Call 020 8547 6601 for a brochure.

Community Activity Co-ordinator

The Community Activity Co-ordinator runs groups on a weekly basis for the over-65's. If you would like to join us please view our programme of activities.

Kingston Leisure Card

You can apply for a Leisure Card if you live in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and you:

  • are aged 60 or over;
  • receive Jobseeker's Allowance;
  • receive Income Support;
  • are a full-time student in further or higher education;
  • are registered disabled or receive disability benefit; or
  • receive Carer's Allowance (Invalid Care Allowance to 31/03/03).

The Leisure Card is valid for one year for under 60's and for ten years for over 60's.  The Leisure Card give you discounts at all of the following Leisure Centres:

  • Albany Park Canoe & Sailing Centre
  • Chessington Sports Centre
  • Hawker Centre (YMCA)
  • The Kingfisher Leisure Centre
  • Kingsmeadow Athletics Stadium
  • Kingston YMCA
  • The Malden Centre
  • Tolworth Recreation Centre

Application forms are available from the centres mentioned above and libraries or you can request one by calling the KSRS Brochure Hotline on 020 8547 5200.
