The plan aims to give a comprehensive overview of London’s coordinated response to a major incident, providing an understanding of the responsibilities of the organisations involved during a major incident at a regional level. It also acts as a ‘signpost’ to more detailed emergency plans.
The plan is focused on the response to a sudden impact event or emergency, which involves a large number of fatalities, detailing the arrangements for the provision of suitable mortuary facilities. It gives guidance to all agencies responding to a mass fatality incident and information for dealing with incidents overseas that involve a large number of UK nationals.
This plan summarises key guidance and procedures to allow a comprehensive overview of London’s coordinated planning and response arrangements for human pandemic influenza. Providing the agencies that make up the London Resilience Partnership with a strategic framework, to support their integrated preparedness and response to a flu pandemic.
