Blue Badge Scheme
What is it?
The Blue Badge Scheme provides a national arrangement of on street parking concessions for:
- drivers or passengers with severe walking difficulties or who are registered blind
- drivers with a severe impairment in both upper limbs who are unable to operate, or who have great difficulty in operating, all or some types of parking meter
- children under two with certain serious medical conditions requiring the transportation of bulky medical equipment or who need to be kept near a vehicle at all times in order to be treated in the vehicle or taken immediately to a place where they can be treated

Can I have a blue badge parking space near my home?
There are very strict criteria which have to be observed before a disabled persons’ parking bay can be provided in a residential area.
