“Did you know that an average of 2 woman a week are killed in the UK by current or former partners and that an estimated 10 further victims of domestic abuse per week commit suicide? Or that the estimated yearly cost of domestic abuse to a borough the size of Kingston is over £15.5 million?
Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in their lifetime and the way you respond to someone who has disclosed to you can have a significant impact on their safety and that of their children.
Kingston’s multi-agency domestic abuse training programme is available at 2 levels to anyone working or volunteering in the borough. If you have any contact with members of the public it is important for you to have an awareness of the issue and associated risks and know where to get help and advice.
Dates for this free training are now available to book for 2011/12 – please see the flyer below for dates, further information about courses and details of how to book. “
