Timetable of events 2011

Monday 21st Nov

The Domestic Violence Team to attend KISH (Kingston Integrated sexual health) board review meeting, publicising services in the borough.

Friday 25th Nov

International day to eliminate violence against women

  • The White Ribbon Campaign begins, during which White Ribbons are worn to demonstrate committment to eradicating violence against women. Collection boxes and white ribbons will be distributed throughout Kingston. Keep an eye out, and wear your white ribbon with pride!
  • White Ribbons will be available to purchase in Guildhall buildings, Kingston Market house and Police Station, College and University.
  • The “I’m a fan of a real man” campaign (Women’s Aid) also beging. This is a new initiative in which we celebrate Real Men, who don't condone, or use, violence and control against women.
  • Domestic Violence Services will also be attending  Kingston University, raising awareness of the message. There will also be a meeting with senior borough staff from Kingston police, Kingston Council and Kingston Health Services.
  • In the evening, the Domestic Violence Team will be out in Kingston Town Centre - promoting respect between the sexes.

Monday 28th Nov

The Domestic Violence Team is holding a Survivor's Event, to celebrate the Strenght of Women. This invitation only event will generate feedback about how we can improve domestic violence services in Kingston for the future.

Tuesday 29th Nov

The Domestic Violence Team to attend the Adult safeguarding team meeting, publicising services in the borough.

Wednesday 30th Nov

The Domestic Violence Team team to attend New Malden CMHT team meeting, publicising services in the borough.

The ‘Wednesday’s women’ Survivor's Group are holding an open event for professionals working with survivor’s of domestic violence. Invitation only. Please call 07917271549 for more info about this event.

Friday 2nd Dec

The Domestic Violence Team to attend ‘Right Steps’ team meeting, publicising services in the borough.

Monday 5th Dec

On Monday the 5th December it's the 2nd Domestic Violence One Stop Shop multiagency awareness day. Last year's event was very well received, increasing links between key services and other teams across the borough. The event is from 1-3pm, and all Kingston profesionals are welcome to come along and join us in a slice of cake!

Tuesday 6th Dec

The Domestic Violence Team to attend assessment and re-ablement team meeting and the Community Learning disability team, publicising services in the borough.

Wednesday 7th Dec

The Domestic Violence Team to attend Housing Assessment Team meeting, publicising services in the borough.

From 6.30 – 8pm, the Police will be facilitating a DV Stand at the Kingston university student union bar.

Saturday 10th Dec
