Youth Justice in Process

The work of Youth Offending Service is at the heart of the Youth Justice System.

The whole youth justice system is overseen on behalf of the government by the national Youth Justice Board. Visit the Youth Justice Board website for more detailed information about what the youth justice system does and how it works.

Youth Justice in Process

When young people offend and enter the youth justice system, we have statutory duties. These duties vary depending on the young person’s stage in the criminal justice process.

Kingston Youth Offending Services focuses on preventing young people entering the youth justice system and helping young people who do offend to change their attitudes and behaviour to avoid committing further offences.

We do this through early identification and the offer of multiagency support programmers.
