‘Think Family’ A Strategy for Supporting Parents and Carers sets out our commitment to working with and for parents in order to give all children and young people the best start in life.
The Strategy was launched in October 2009. You can download the full version below. This document is aimed at those working with parents, but some parents may also find it useful in setting out what support is available in Kingston. We are also producing a summary version for parents, children and young people, which will be added as a link on this page once finalised.
This strategy is a working document which highlights progress and priorities at the time of writing. It will be supported by a work plan which will continue to change and develop over time.
The Parent Know How team at the Department for Children, Schools and Families have produced a brand new leaflet to help promote the eighteen services funded by Parent Know How to provide support and advice to parents. This leaflet can be found on the teachernet website and has been attached below, as well as a link to this website.
We are running three parenting programmes to support parents. These are for parents and carers of children aged 18 months to 5 years, 6 years to 12 years and 13 to 19 years.
Information on these programmes can be found on the 'Parenting Programmes' page.
