Additional Services

Early Education:

  • The maintained nursery school offers 78 part time places, 5 sessions of 2.5 hours per week, term time only, for children aged 3 and 4 years

Parent Workshops include:

  • Helping your child at home
  • Assessment and learning - involving parents
  • Transition
  • Speaking and listening
  • Aspects of Foundation Stage Curriculum

SEN Services:

  • Ten designated places for children with social communication difficulties (usually associated with autism). In addition children with a range of special educational needs are accommodated in the mainstream nursery.  Services for parents include Early Bird, SEN parent support group/workshops, SPLAT Group, Autism Awareness, Makaton.

Extended Day-care:

  • 30 extended day-care places, fully integrated with early education, between 8.00am and 6.00pm, 49 weeks of the year (2.5 hours per day funded for all children, fees are charged for additional hours).

Extended Services:

  • Holiday Play-Schemes:
    for children aged 3-5 years; 3 hours per day including lunch
  • SEN Play-scheme:
    Run in Easter and summer holidays, offered in partnership with the Team for Disabled Children
  • Lunch/After School Clubs:  
    For part time children; children are able to spend an extra hour in the nursery with peers and familiar adults; lunch club includes hot lunch

Stepping Stones Playgroup:

  • Pre-school playgroup sessions 4 days per week for children from 2.5 years of age

  • Computer skills for Parents (Using a digital camera, designing calendars, posters and invitations)
