Children's Centres

What services do children’s centres offer?

Children's centres provide a range of services to help you get childcare, early education, and informal health and social support, plus information about where to get other services.  

The range of children's services can include:

  • child and family health services
  • information for families and carers
  • childcare and early education
  • support for children with special needs
  • outreach to families in need
  • family support
  • adult education classes with crèche facilities
  • helping parents find training and employment if they want it

Will my family be able use children’s centre services?

Yes, all families with children under five years old, and expectant mothers, as well as fathers, can use the centres to help their children get the best start in life.  All children's centres will offer informal support for parents and a place for your child to play and learn.
