Children and Young People's Plan

The Children and Young People’s Plan covers the period 2006-2010 and sets out our key priorities for improving outcomes for children and young people.  The Plan also sets out how the Local Authority, schools and our key partners in the Health Service, the Police, Connexions, the Learn and Skills Council (LSC) and the voluntary sector will be developing new integrated services and ways of working in response to Every Child Matters and the Children Act 2004.

Each year we are committed to reviewing the plan, assessing our progress and refreshing the objectives where we need to make changes. The review of the Plan for 2006 - 2007 and the revised Action Plans for 2007-2008 are now available and have been distributed to all key partners.

The key changes we have made include new or revised objectives for improving access to CAMHS; developing our prevention strategy and a parenting strategy; increasing stability for looked after children; reducing bullying; reducing attainment gaps; improving social cohesion by engaging young people and reducing anti-social behaviour; and improving transition to secondary school by vulnerable pupils.

In addition we have identified clearer objectives for joint commissioning and managing our assets, in support of greater integration and joint working across the Children’s Trust, especially with our partners in the NHS.

You can obtain a hard copy by phoning 020 8547 5234.

A summary version of the Children and Young People's Plan has also been published along with a children's version a young persons summary version written and designed by young people.
