The following masons have confirmed that they will conduct all works in accordance with the following:

All memorials shall be supplied, fixed and inscribed in accordance with the current Code of Practice as issued by the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) or where proof has been supplied that all materials have been chosen for longevity – at least 30 years in typical soil conditions. Any metal parts must be made from stainless steel. Every memorial erected shall have a proof strength to withstand a push/pull force of at least 70kg applied at its apex or, in the case of a tall memorial, at a height of 5’ (1500mm) – shoulder height. NAMM may be requested to act as an independent arbiter in case of dispute between the owner of rights of burial, memorial mason and the Council. All memorials shall be legibly inscribed with the burial section and grave number for purposes of identification.

Your mason is required to submit an application clearly setting out all proposed works. Once an application has been approved a permit for which no fee is charged is issued which the mason is required to hand in to the cemetery office before starting any work. If a mason is not on the approved list then no permit will be allowed. All local masons have received this information and may choose to join the approved list at any time. Please note that a grave owner is responsible for memorial safety and any necessary repairs including vandalism and you are advised to consider insuring your memorial for peace of mind.
