Environmental Health
Environmental Health monitors conditions and responds to your complaints and enquiries concerning a number of issues in the Borough such as Food Safety. There are five sections namely; Housing and Public Health, Food Safety, Pollution/Commercial, Licensing; Cemeteries and Crematorium.
Any complaint or enquiry could lead to legal enforcement action where serious breaches of legislation are identified. The Council's Enforcement Policy lays out the criteria considered before any legal proceedings are taken. You can find a link to the policy at the bottom of the page.

| Cemeteries and Crematorium | We have a crematorium and two cemeteries in Kingston and in Surbiton and respect the needs of the bereaved by providing a range of dignified services. We also offer a bereavement counselling service. |

| Food Safety | The Council is responsible for ensuring that food sold in the borough is safe to eat. All food businesses that prepare, produce, cook or sell food are required to register with the council by law and they must comply with strict hygiene standards. If businesses do not meet these standards the Council will take action to secure the necessary improvements. |

| Licensing | We are responsible for a wide range of licences including the licensing of animal establishments such as pet shops, riding and boarding establishments; the registration of lotteries, the issue of gaming permits; the licensing of premises that provide massage or special treatment, acupuncture etc., and the licensing of premises to sell alcohol or provide entertainment under the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003 |

| Pest Control | The Council provides a free service for the control of rats in domestic premises. For all other pests we aim to provide helpful advice but treatment will be at a commercial rate if staff are available, otherwise please consult local Pest Control companies. |
