Essential information about the Blue Badge Scheme
The Blue Badge Scheme provides a national arrangement of parking concessions for:
- drivers or passengers with severe walking difficulties or who are registered blind
- people who hold a driving licence and have a severe impairment in both upper limbs and who are unable to operate, or have great difficulty in operating, all or some types of parking meter
- children under 3 years with certain serious medical conditions requiring the transportation of bulky medical equipment or who need to be kept near a vehicle at all times in order to be treated in the vehicle or to be taken immediately to a place where they can be treated
- Service personel and veterans who meet the criteria as specified in the 'Disabled Service Personnel addendum'.
- Blue Badge perrmit holders to park on street or bay close to their destination.
